Asbestos Artex Ceiling Removal

Safe, fully compliant removal of asbestos Artex ceilings and textured coatings across Berkshire, Surrey & Hampshire. From £40 + VAT per m².

Asbestos Artex Ceiling Removal You Can Trust

Artex was a popular textured finish for ceilings and walls in homes built or decorated before 2000, and much of it contains a small amount of asbestos. If you are planning to renovate, rewire or replace a ceiling, it should be removed safely by a professional team first.

Our UKATA-trained team seals off the room, takes the ceiling down under controlled conditions and double-bags all waste for disposal at an approved facility. Prices start from £40 + VAT per m² for plasterboard ceilings and £75 + VAT per m² for lath and plaster, based on a full house of Artex, with a hazardous waste consignment note for your records. Textured coatings were used on ceilings and walls throughout the 1970s and 80s. We can remove any or all of the following in one visit, and leave the room clean and ready for your next trade.

Is It Safe to Live With Artex, and Can I Remove It Myself?

Artex in good condition is generally low risk if it is left alone. The danger comes when it is sanded, scraped, drilled or steamed, which can release fibres into the air. You cannot tell if Artex contains asbestos by looking at it, so if you are unsure, our asbestos testing service can confirm it. Please do not try to remove it yourself: it needs to be dampened, removed under controlled conditions and disposed of correctly. Once it is gone, we can fit new plasterboard ceilings and plastering through our reinstating service.
